The Doors of Jannah focus and current initiatives entail, but is not limited to the following:
Local Community Fundraisers
DOJ runs regular local community fundraises to encourage the support of those less fortunate in neighboring areas. We undertake to help those looking to help others under the banner “Every good deed brings you closer to Paradise” #DoMoreGood. Your donations will be channeled into various projects.
Monthly Feeding Scheme
Monthly feeding initiatives in areas such Du Noon, Wesbank, Belhar and other surrounding areas. On average over 300 meals are distributed to needy recipients.
Financial Support to other Organisations
Providing regular monthly financial donations to a Muslim administered safe haven located in the Table View, Cape Town area for orphans, abused and neglected children (Peace Home).
Zakaah Distribution
Dispensing of Zakaah (charitable) contributions, from funds which the organisation has received to assist e.g. unemployed Muslim individuals, widows and families.
Mosque Maintenance
Restoration projects to infrastructure at a local township masjid in Du Noon.
Grocery Distributions
With our #BagsOfGood campaigns we encourage communities and members to purchase extra groceries that can be distributed to those in need. Shopper bags can also be purchased or cash donated where proceeds are used to make-up food parcels. This aims to continuously create a culture of giving and remembering those less fortunate.
Annual Ramadaan Programs
During Ramadaan operations intensify e.g.
- Weekly food distributions to our core focus communities (incl. non-Muslims)
- Masjid Iftaar Initiatives (for those fasting)
- Fitrah Parcels
- Zakaah Collections
- Eid Clothing Drives
Disaster Relief
Responding and donating towards Disaster Relief requests based on requests from the communities we serve. Support can range from building supplies, emergency food & water, blankets & clothing, replacement bedding etc.
Clothing Drives
We co-ordinate ongoing clothing collection drives in the community, and distribution thereof to those in need.
Partnerships & Support Networks
Building networks between people, organisations and communities wanting to #DoMoreGood from Mitchell’s Plain to Worcester, Wellington, Dunoon, Atlantis, Wesbank, Belhar, Skaapkraal, Tableview, Blouberg etc.
Launching in 2022 – “Project R20”
This campaigns aims to build a Bursary Fund that can contribute towards sustainable change in communities through education.
